Tutorial: Set Bing Backgrounds as Automatically Updated Wallpaper (Windows 7 only)

Bing, Microsoft’s search engine always has some really fantastic wallpapers as its background. Now, you can set those wallpapers as your desktop wallpaper and it is automatically updated through an RSS feed.
Windows 7 users only need to download the theme package offered by Microsoft. Double-click it and set “Bing Dynamic” as your theme. Your wallpaper will now rotate every minute or so. So to slow it down, just right-click on your desktop and select “Personalization” and there will be a “Desktop Background” link on the bottom. Simply click on it and you will find “Change picture every” on the bottom and you will be able to set the time interval to rotate your wallpaper. Although there’s a “bing” watermark on the wallpaper, but it’s small and not too ostentatious.
Bing Dynamic theme is for Windows 7 only. I’ve also uploaded the theme and if you’re facing any problems downloading it, click here for the Bing Dynamic theme.

News: Google launches Priority Inbox for Gmail

Google launches Priority Inbox for it’s Gmail service. Gmail finds the important messages and sorts them out for you. Mails that are essential and important are displayed first, followed by starred e-mails and lastly, everything else. It works by checking which e-mails you read, which you reply to, and gives the mails priority. And even if the service goes wrong, you can always mark a message to be more important or less important.

Recommendation: Download any of your torrents at full speed! (HTTP/ Direct download)
As we know, Internet Service Providers all around the world are trying their best to throttle Internet users’ speed to maximize their profit by having more bandwidth available for more new users. One of the services they like to throttle is applications that use peer-2-peer (P2P) technology. Applications such as BitTorrent, uTorrent, LimeWire and Xun Lei are applications that use P2P technology. You fairly get any speed from these applications. BitTorrent, uTorrent and Xun Lei are bittorrent clients that use torrents to share file among the peers. I will not go deeply into this bittorrent protocol or P2P technology and if you wanna know more about it, click here.
Before, this website is known as Btaccel.com but now it has shifted to Torrific.com. This website lets you to download whatever torrent you want. It doesn’t matter what content or how big the file size of the torrent is. All you need to do is sign up for an account using your e-mail, and ta-da! Everything is set and ready to go.
Login using your new account. Now, copy the torrent you wanna download (as in URL form – HTTP download of the torrent). You can search for torrent in sites such as IsoHunt or ThePirateBay. Search for something such as “the cove” in IsoHunt. You will see something like this:

Now, copy the link’s location by right clicking on the “Download .torrent”. Go to Torrific.com and paste the link’s location into the space available and click the “get” button. It may take a while for the server to download your torrent file and they will notify you by sending you an e-mail if your torrent is ready to download. The file will be available on their server for two weeks. If the link has already been submitted by somebody else, the links would appear immediately. The download links will be generated.

Now, download all your files in the torrent at full speed!
News: Telekom Malaysia is throttling video download’s speed
Malaysia’s top ISP (Internet Service Provider), Telekom Malaysia (TM) has been throttling video download’s speed. This action of theirs is considered as an action to conserve their bandwidths for more future users subscriptions to maximize their profits. Video files with file formats of MKV or MP4 are throttled. After the throttle of P2P services, they’ve come to the act to throttle download speeds of video files. This action of them is considered selfish and is making the community very unsatisfied.
I am also a subscriber of their service and I have made an experiment on this matter. I’ve downloaded two files, one is a compressed file with the file format of RAR while the other is a video file with the file format of MKV. Both files are provided by the same media file hosting service company so it can be concluded that both files’ server’s location are the same. Thus, server location will not affect the speed of downloading of both files. The results:

The first picture is the MKV file while the second picture is the RAR file. Both files are downloaded from Mediafire. From the first picture, you can see that I can only get 26.160 Kilbytes per second while from the second picture, I can get 180.624 Kilbytes per second. This is a huge difference between these two file’s downloading speed. I have made countless experiments and all results are the same. TM is throttling video files’ download speed.
Now, the community is now in a rage and this topic is being discussed and many have lodged a complaint letter to TM and to MCMC (Malaysian Communications And Multimedia Comission). If you are not one of us, be sure to join us!
